Blistered Shishito Peppers with Tangy Buttermilk Ranch


6-8 oz. shishito peppers

2 Tablespoons oil

1 teaspoon salt

Ingredients for Buttermilk Ranch:

1 Cup buttermilk

1/2 Cup sour cream

1/4 Cup mayo

1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, minced

1 Tablespoon fresh dill, minced

1 Tablespoon fresh parsley, minced

1 Tablespoon fresh chives, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice


  1. Make the Buttermilk Ranch: add all ingredients a large bowl and whisk, incorporating everything well. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. In a large saucepan add the peppers and oil. On medium high sear the peppers, turning frequently for about 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Sprinkle peppers with salt and serve immediately with the buttermilk ranch.
